Transforming Trauma into Tolerance: Where to now for Holocaust Education?

The presentation will describe how Generation 2 Generation originated and how it has grown to become a highly respected organisation involved in Holocaust education throughout the UK and beyond. Our aims and achievements will be outlined and attendees will hear about our unique method of training speakers to a high professional standard. The talk will also cover the issues and difficulties facing us as we expand. Short video extracts will be shown of our speakers telling their stories and these will include those whose parents or grandparents were born and brought up in the Netherlands. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion at the end. The session is designed to attract the descendants of Holocaust survivors, those involved in teaching history and, indeed, anyone interested in the subject of Holocaust education or who is concerned about combating prejudice and discrimination, especially amongst young people.
